Terms and conditions
- Not every shower/balcony can be sealed. The wall and floor tiles must be in excellent condition, the floor must be on a concrete slab and there are to be no cracked, crazed, broken, loose or drummy tiles. There also must be a fall to the drain. Basically the area must be solid, sound and in good condition and not be undergoing structural movement. (Structural movement in a newer building is more common as the structure may be settling). Only when the bathroom/balconies comply with the ALSS guidelines can they be sealed over the tiles. If there is failure in the product within the 20 years ALSS will happily deduct the cost of sealing over the tiles (that has been already paid) from the tile removal works. Stuctual movement voids the warranty.
- The 110% Leak Free Gaurantee only applies to the Traditional Method and Full Rebuilds.
- The ALSS 110% Leak Free Guarantee is applicable to the waterproofing of the tile removal method only within the warranty period – compliant with AS3740. Basically if we dig up your tiles and re-waterproof it and re-tile it, and it leaks again from the waterproofing membrane into adjoining rooms or units, then you will be covered. ALSS will repair the shower for free and credit or refund 10% of the original cost of the job. E.g. Strata have paid $1290 for a medium Traditional Method – therefore strata will receive a refund (or credit towards another job) to the value of $129. And have the shower repaired for free as well.
- Anything not related to the tile removal method and waterproofing is not included under the guarantee. These non-related defects can include (but are not exclusive to): internal plumbing pipework; leaking taps; leaking shower heads; the silicone around the shower screen; faulty shower screen framework; or the waste pipe being cracked or damaged. These defects are usually pre-existing and not related to the works carried out during the tile removal method.
- If there is structural movement the warranty is void. ALSS will provide photographic and documented evidence of structural movement. For example these can include (but are not exclusive to): cracks in nearby walls; nearby floors; cracked, drummy, crazed or loose tiles on the walls or the floor in the shower; missing or cracked grout - for the warranty to be voided.
- The Latest method repair is not included as a part of the 110% Leak Free Guarantee (separate terms and conditions for the 20 year warranty apply).
